Example, Dell support chat will not appear after filling up and sending the chat request. At the end have to use Chrome, happened today. For any similar instance that doesn't work or act weird in Firefox, switch to Chrome will solve everything. I just hate Chrome for the difficult to use UI and bookmark compared to Firefox and most importantly, no separate searchbox.

Hi iieeann, there are a few possible explanations for odd site behaviors:

(1) The site codes for and test in Chrome but doesn't bother testing in Firefox.

Browsers implement web standards differently, so this approach causes problems from time to time.

(2) A Firefox feature/setting is blocking something.

A chat is hard for support volunteers to diagnose, but if you see odd behavior on a particular public page, please feel free to post a link for comment.

(3) An add-on is blocking or modifying something.

(4) Accumulated cached files or stored data/cookies may cause the page to malfunction.

For #4: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. Obviously this is not practical in the middle of a logged-in session!

(A) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(B) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
