Dear community,

Please can you help me with a problem. Earlier on today, I could not connect to the internet. I have a Windows 10 computer. I could not show my available networks onWindows 10. I tried to connect to the internet using an ethernet connection. Sadly, the ethernet cable was very short. I then got a message from Firefox. I hardly read it, but clicked on one of the options, thinking this was a Cancel message. I don't know what the message was, but my dektop has now lost the Firefox icon. I have lost all my bookmarks and toolbars.

How do I get the Firefox icon back, please?

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

You should Never blindly click on anything unless you know what it does. Without knowing what the message said . . . . . .

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders

Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

Do Not remove any profile folders.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Dear Community,

Thanks for all the e-mails, FredMcD. I think an apology is in order. Yes, I clicked on a message that I had not read properly. But, the thing is, the only thing that was deleted was the Firefox Icon on my desktop. when I went into the Programs, there it was! I simply right-clicked on the icon, and dragged it to my desktop. All my boodmarks and toolbars are now as they were. It had something to do with my connecting to the internet. Thanks for the help,

MAREK_WES
