can't type unicode characters after firefox update from 56.0 to 56.0.1
On 10/22/2017 My PCs had automatic windows 10 updated, also the firefox browser updated from ver 56.0 to 56.0.1. After the update my VPS 4.3 keyboard that I used to type Vietnamese language online forum is no longer usable, I can't not type unicode character on email,forum...
I still can use VPS keyboard to type Unicode on my MSword 2010 without any problem.
Since software updated, I don't know which one cause the problem? Windows ver.10, Firefox 56.0.1, Java... I tried to restore my windows 10 then I got an error. I print screen the error and I hope you can help me to solve the problem. Thank you in advance. Attachments are 2 jpeg files ThinhDo

I don't know how the keyboard integrates with Firefox. Do you know if it works with 64-bit applications?
One of the main effects of the Firefox 56.0.1 update was to migrate 64-bit Windows users from the traditional 32-bit version of Firefox to the 64-bit version. This can cause some add-ons to stop working because they are 32-bit only.
If necessary, you can switch back to 32-bit Firefox. While normally this kind of change is seamless -- the installer detects your existing data and preserves everything -- you might want to make a backup "just in case."
- Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
- How to opt out of 32-bit Firefox migration to 64-bit
Note: If you decide to try 64-bit Firefox on the same system at some point in the future, see: How to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit Firefox.

On previous Windows versions there is the Language bar that shows what keyboard layout currently is selected. Don't know how his is displayed in Windows 10.
Note that there are usually other ways to type (or paste) Unicode characters.

Thanks jscher2000! I switch back to 32-bit Firefox and it works. My PC runs 64 bit operating system, x64 basesd processor. The VPS 4.3 keyboard software was designed to run on Windows XPIII but it works with windows 7, 10 when it runs as compatible with older windows or run as administrator. Thank you so much. Cám ơn bạn nhiều lắm. Thinh Do

Here we go problem with unicode again with the Firefox 57.0.2 (32 bit) I can't type Unicode characters on online email such as yahoo or gmail after Firefox automatically update from ver. 56.0.2 to 57.0.2. This is very sad that newer version left out this function :(
I don't know why it stopped working this time. Do you think an add-on became disabled? You could on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then check above the list for a link to "Show legacy extensions." If you see that link, go ahead and click it, and see whether there are any disabled extensions related to Vietnamese or multilingual input. Anything??
I noticed a Chrome extension called "AVIM - Vietnamese Input Method" (store listing). Now that Firefox is mostly compatible with Chrome extensions, possibly the author could release a Firefox version, or someone else could borrow the code from Github and do it for him if he isn't interested in doing it.
Thank you for your reply. The unicode input tools/converter is disabled in version 57. I click on the find the replacement links and there is none support for unicode.
There are some new Unicode extensions but they don't look very convenient unless you know the codes or long description. For example:
Do you think unicode input tools/converter 2.7.1 by Brett Zamir will update in future? His website link get 404 error... Alternate way I'll type unicode in MSword then copy and pate on the email. Thank you for your answers. Have a good night. Thinh
