after update to 31.1.2 yesterday 1 acct. works, 1 doesn't, setting all good?
after the Thunderbird update was installed yesterday, the default account works, the second account does not work. error message flash something about server has gone down ora network problem. Doesn't stay long enough to copy. Worked with ISP for an hour (they were logged into my machine). All settings are correct. we deleted the account and rebuilt it three times, failed each time with same message. only difference found in settings between account was in the Local Directory:
GOOD ACCOUNT: C:\Users\Sue Fineman\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\83bt5cdt.default\ImapMail\mail.nwi.net BAD ACCOUNT: C:\Users\Sue Fineman\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\83bt5cdt.default\ImapMail\mail.nwi-3.net
The bad account started as ending with mail.nwi-1.net. ISP says that is incorrect, Thunderbird will not allow it to be deleted.
Would it pay to edit the profile, or as SeaMonkey say a lot "delete the profile it will rebuild"?
Any help will be greatly appreciated as my wife is a writer and needs this account.

Can you post your Troubleshooting Information? Help (Alt-H) - Troubleshooting Information
Is there any way I can send this direct to you (offline). It warns about the sensitive information it contains and I know my wife does not want it out. I do have it but there is nothing I can identify as a problem, but I really don't know what I'm looking for.
As of this morning the default account works, (both send and receive), the other account can send, but cannot download any email.
Forgot to mention yesterday her config. Windows 7 Home up todate on updates Thunderbird 3.1.1.2 HP system with 8 GB memory and 1 TB Disk. her only usage is MS Word , internet with Chrome browser and Thunderbird mail. Also an occassional video or game. That's it. Mail is set for LDAP, I thought it was POP.
Also this morning I installed thunderbird on my system. Setup both accounts and tried same tests. Got the same results. Default account works, other account cannot retrieve mail.
My system is openSUSE 13.2 Beta1. Here's my signature that goes out with emails normally:
openSUSE 13.2(Linux 3.16.2-1.gdcee397-desktop)|Intel(R) Quad Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz|8GB DDR3| GeForce 8400GS (NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-340-32)|KDE 4.14.1
All setting so far are the same (except account name and stuff like that. This started last Thursday after thunderbird update.
I still suspect it is an ISP or network problem, like error message says. [Quote] Server [email protected] has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem 11:00AM
Let me know about sending the troubleshoooting information.
Thanks for your quick response and continued help.
Russ
You already posted an email address above. So I have no idea what you're worried about posting the Troubleshooting Information. Troubleshooting Information is designed not to reveal sensitive information.
