When I try to post a comment the page greys out. Clicking again restores the page, but the comment is unposted. Repeated clicking "Post comment" just repeats the greying out and restoring. I'm using 14.0.1 on win7 (64).

Problem solved. When I cleared the cache and cookies, and logged back in to the site, everything was A-OK. Thanks to both for replying so quickly.

Hi,

If the problem started recently, you can consider the Reset Firefox feature via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.

Is this on one particular site? When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (if you usually stay logged in to the site, this probably will log you out)

While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page.

If that doesn't help, perhaps something in Firefox 14 or one of your add-ons is not compatible with the site. Do you want to post the URL?
