I want to switch of auto-detected location. I hate seeing my location on view when I'm using Google. I've tried the following but nothing has worked.

1.

In the URL bar, type about:config
Type geo.enabled
Double click on the geo.enabled preference
Location-Aware Browsing is now disabled ... it now says FALSE

2. If you've given Firefox permission to always give your location to a site and later change your mind, you can easily revoke that permission. Here's how:

Navigate to the site to which you've given permission Go to the Tools menu, then select Page Info Select the Permissions tab Change the setting for Share Location ... mine now says BLOCK.

Even using Firefox 'Private Browsing', my location will still be on view in Google.

Any suggestions??

Google uses a reverse look up of your IP address and there is not much that you can do about this because an IP address is needed to make it possible to send data to your computer.

Even when I'm using 'Private Browsing'? In that case I'll be changing search engines pronto.

Private Browsing only means that Firefox doesn't save data to your hard drive.
For accessing websites it makes no difference as they still the the same requests from the browser with your IP.

Only the use of an anonymous proxy (TOR) could prevent that, but that exposes you to security risks.
