why does FF always open at my last page viewed after I restart it instead of my iGoogle home page?

When I close FF, I usually just "Red X" it at the top. However, when I resume FF later, FF will open at the last page visited and not at my designated iGoogle home page. This has just started on this PC in the last few days, however, my other PC has had this problem for about 5 months now. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. Thank you.

Options > General -> Startup = what do you have selected in the box to the right of When Firefox starts:?

I have not altered any of my settings. My startup page is always my iGoogle page. .... even when my page has re-opened ( onto my last visited site ) , if I look at the Tools > Options > General > Startup .... it remains my iGoogle page address. I have 2 tabs open though, the iGoogle one AND the last page visited. Why does the last page visited not shut down when I shut down FF ? I have noticed that in TB it is the same, but this has always been the case, TB will always open on the last mail opened if I did not close it down first. Is there a possible link between the two ? And if so, why have I always had this with TB and never with FF until now ?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).
