Can't locate calendar after latest update

I had a great deal of items stored on my calendar, some extending close to a year out (medical appointments, etc). Now, since the latest upgrade of Thunderbird a week or so ago, my calendar - along with all my appointments, are gone. How can I get them back? I need them desperately. Please help!

What type of calendar is it - local or network? If network, is it a Google Calendar? If Google, how do you access it - natively via CardDAV or via the Provider add-on?
