What Thunderbird settings need to change to send to gmail addresses? All other addresses work fine. Messages to numerous gmail accounts worked until a few days ago.
Thanks, Howard

Chosen solution
Actually, changing some Thunderbird settings did solve the problem. Our From email address was for a domain different from Sonic's outgoing SMTP server. I changed the From email address to be from sonic.net, and messages to gmail addresses are no longer blocked. Our Thunderbird settings had been the same for years and worked fine until about a week ago. I suspect Google revised their filter rules recently and caused this issue.

Gmail has high security settings, more than many others. This is generally the issue when the receiving mail supporter (in this case, Gmail) cannot confirm that the sending domain matches the domain of the host sending site. For example, if your business is pumpkinpie.com and your business hosting provider is bluehost.com, Gmail sees that the actual host domain is bluehost and looks for confirmation that the settings for cakes.com are reflected there. This ties to DKIM and SPF settings on the server and are beyond anything TB can do. My suggestion is to check with your hosting provider. This is generally a simple fix by web host. This is not an issue that TB can correct. (Background: spammers like to send emails, pretending to be someone else, and that is what Gmail is trying to prevent.)

Where do you find "From email address" field in TB settings ?
In the Linux version menu bar, I click Edit, then Account Settings. In the new window's side bar, click the bold account name. The Account Settings pane has a Default Identity. The entry in the email address field there is what appears as the From address in a message header.
After checking on my side, domain name is matching smtp server name. So Howard's solution not relevant in my case though the symptoms are the same :
