How do I save a pdf that is open in firefox?

I click on a pdf link which opens in firefox. How do I save this pdf to my device? There are no sav or download options I can find. Going back to click the link again isn’t an option due to the way the website works.

That is a great question. I am also looking for a option to download files. There's a brand new article available in Mozilla's knowledge base. It looks like this feature will be added in an upcoming version. Where to find and manage downloaded files in Firefox

Here's what I try. Do not open the PDF link. If you touch and lightly hold the link, you’ll get a popup sheet that gives you an option to choose "Download Link". Saved downloads will show up in the iOS file browser App.

I do recommend to open a feature request on Bugzilla

Hi howdytom, (is that redundant?)  :)

Thanks for responding. Yea, that is the best way to do it. The situation I had, was that I had already opened the pdf and the website is constructed in such a way that you can't go back from that point because the pdf is the product of a one-off transaction and they don't want you to go back and do it again. Got stuck there because there was no way I could find to save the pdf from the preview in the browser, and if I close it, it's gone. Which is what happened....

If it's actually just not implemented it would be a great feature to have, although admittedly, my scenario isn't very common. It is a complete dead end though, so it would be nice to have that escape hatch of being able to save the pdf directly from the preview screen. Would probably save a small but significant amount of user time, as I would bet, with no data to back it up, that the common 'workflow' is to click the pdf, it opens in preview, realize you can't save it from there, close it and tap-and-hold to download it. Could cut that in half by having a save-from-preview feature.

Thanks!

Indeed, your scenario is a real use-case. A button "Save as PDF" is essential.

After the update from iOS 12.4.1 to iPadOS 13.1, the option to save a web page as pdf disappeared. It is essential for me. I must save a page as pdf when I download a pic to save the license, as I am using the pics in my work. So, at the moment I am forced to look at Safari. Safari can do it,

Clic en los tres puntos de la URL, luego “compartir página con”, después elige guardarla, yo por ejemplo lo hice en Google Drive. Sin Safari ni extensiones.

I miss this feature as well. At the moment it seems to be impossible to download a PDF which is behind some form of password-protection (htaccess file e.g.). If I choose "Download Link" the resulting file is only a few hundred bytes in size and definitely not the requested PDF.

So, wondering if save to/as PDF is now possible. I have firefox for iPadOS 13.3 as version 20, but comment referred to version 21. I will download that, and am wondering if PDF downloads have been improved per previous commenters' requests. Thanks.
