I've just tried to send 65 copies and had a message stating that I've exceeded maximum number allowed. What is the maximum number?

Chosen solution

This article says "approximately 60". It's an interesting way of phrasing it, and the uncertainty suggests that the limit may be due to the size of a buffer, rather than an absolute count of addresses.

Apart from Mailing Lists, a Mail Merge is another possible approach. None of these seem terribly good at reliably informing you which have and which haven't been sent. :-(

For Mail Merge, there is an add-on, or you could look at alternative approaches. The Libre Office suite offers its own smtp client along with various ways of managing the addressees list.

Is there a max? I don't think its Tbird's limit but your email-providers.

Thanks for that. My ISP is BT but I cannot find out if they have a maximum number. My problem now is I don't know how many of the 65 received a copy of my email - I don't want to send repeat batches out when they may have already received a copy!
