I want to install Habu add in to thunderbird. Floowing the instructions given doesn't allow installation? What am I missing here?

Download worked okay, but installation of the add on won't function. Message said the download cannot be opened for installing.

Chosen solution

Habu/okipipi is dead.

Enter Habul in the add-ons tab search box, or download Habul from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/habul/

I followed closely the instructions the previous poster outlined and no install button is anywhere to be found. Very cumbersome activity working with this. There is no tool bar and I cannot figure out the methods of getting to tools in Thunderbird without the tool bar menus etc. I think I might just abandon this effort. This is way too complicated for a simple add on install I think!

Thanks for any other input anyone can offer.

If you are using the "hamburger" button, then it's in the first menu you see: Add-ons. Just above the highlighted Preferences option in the 2nd picture.

What is a hamburger button? I must say, this deal has me completely confused. The download is done. I see no menu for install anywhere on the Thunderbird pages. All I see is my email, nothing else for completing install of Habu.

The screen shots you provide in the response, where are they in this Thunderbird program? I see nothing but my emails. No tool bar menu, no menu for install, and I have no idea what a hamburger button is or where it is.

So. I think at this time I will just leave this alone and drop the Thunderbird feature all together. Thanks for any and all advice given to me on this topic and question.

Without fixating on names, the picture with three lines across it looks enough like a hamburger for me to get the message. The fact it has a red square around it to bring it to your notice notwithstanding. It is the application menu button if you want the correct terminology.

If you can not find your menus, use the Windows controls and press the Alt Key... look a menu bar at the top. This has been a feature of your operating system since 1995. Now is probably a good time to review other important keyboard shortcut in Windows. https://support.microsoft.com/kb/126449

Perhaps it is time for you to supply an image as you say nothing but your mail appears... a very non standard thing, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

The reason I wanted Habu add-on was the reason for getting the Thunderbird program and to link it to one of my email accounts for quick reporting of spam email. Habu now I find out is not available for use in Thunderbird for an add-on. Not sure why however. Apparently it was available at one time.

As far as the toolbar issue is, apparently the version of Thunderbird I just installed does hide the tool bar by default. Strange issue.

Thanks for the opinions and assistance and tips you provided. Very nice. I will not need the Thunderbird for my purposes. I have another solution in mine for my intentions and Best Regards Matt!

I'm not sure what "Habu" is, but I'd assumed you meant Habul, which I use myself to report spam. If that's what you were after, I don't understand why you should think it's incompatible.

The preferred way to get any add-on is to use the search facility on the Add-ons page in Thunderbird. Downloading and then installing an xpi file is more complicated and error-prone.

Hello again, the name Habu was given to me from my account with a spam reporting service. They apparently have some communication issues with this add-on because I got the add-on link from my spam reporting service. The add-on menu does show Habu in Thunderbird, but states it's not available now for use.

Such is life, I was just following instructions given. Thanks for your input. I have another method now and thanks once again.
