bookmarks previously had
I previously has bookmarks that were shared and merged; however, my computer had to be reinstalled and I seem to have lost all of them now. I need assistance in retreiving my previously saved bookmarks.
Thank you
Danielle

Hi Danielle, when the computer was reinstalled, did Windows create a folder named:
C:\Windows.old
If you have that folder, your old settings usually are intact in there and can be retrieved (since the settings folder is hidden, we'll describe how to find it in more detail if relevant).
If you do not have that folder, do you know whether you made any backups outside your computer, such as on a backup hard drive or online backup service, or whether you were using the Firefox Sync service?
Thanks I wil have a look - much appreciated and keep you posted!
I have a windows.old folder created how do I access (Where do I go) to get my bookmarks if even there? Not sure what to do from here.
Thanks.
So, first, I suggest having Windows show you hidden files and folder. This article describes how to turn that on: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hidden-files -- although it's for Windows 7, I think the Control Panel option should still be available. If not, you use use Organize > Folder and search options or Tools > Folder Options to get to the classic dialog. Then use the View tab.
Then navigate to:
C:\Windows.old\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
You might only have one partially-randomly-named profile folder in there, or you might have more than one. If there is more than one, check each
Inside the old profile folder, look for a subfolder named bookmarkbackups and copy the latest few files out to your Documents folder or other convenient location.
Then, from within Firefox, use the Restore feature. Note that this will replace any bookmarks you have added since you start up this new Firefox. If those are critical, you can do the optional steps.
(1) Optional - export any new bookmarks you've added. See: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks.
(2) Restore the backup you copied into your Documents folder (on the restore menu, at the bottom, Choose File): Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
(3) If you created an HTML file in step 1, re-import that: Import Bookmarks from an HTML file.
(4) If you imported a file in step 3, you can move those imported bookmarks to the desired location using the Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b).
Any luck?
