No version of Firefox from mozilla.org has ever come with any trojans or viruses or such junk as it would hurt Mozilla and the Firefox browser far too much for any say financial gain.

Did you update Kaspersky recently as often times a new antivirus update can have a false positive with a new release of Firefox (and also Thunderbird and SeaMonkey) and it gets corrected in a update for antivirus client.

I just uploaded the Firefox Setup 20.0.1.exe (en-US) to Virus total and it had Detection ratio: 0 / 45

Could you explain what you mean by "updating"? Did your antivirus pick this up while Firefox was updating or while you were browsing the Internet?

If you were browsing the Internet (While visitting the hxxp://xtrastudio.com link), then that website was infected and not a Firefox problem. I would advise you to not visit the website again though, unless they manage to fix the infection as the antivirus managed to block it now, but it might not be able to the next time.

If it happened during the "Firefox is updating" window when you tried to start Firefox, then it pretty serious.

If you could answer that question, we will probably be able to help you. Good luck :)

It happened after firefox did an automatic update. I turned on my computer in the morning and noticed that my toolbar changed and then this security issue popped up from Kaspersky. I guess firefox did an update as soon as I turned on my computer
