I have used T'bird forever, and don't think I changed anything. My profile is stored in Dropbox, so I can access T'bird from other computers - but only one instance at any time.

Suddenly it won't save changes after I close and reopen T'bird. I can create a new account, or edit settings for other accounts, but when I close and reopen T'bird those changes have gone, even on the same computer.

The folders for any new accounts I add are visible in the T'bird profile folder, but T'bird itself does not show them in the Folder pane with "show all" selected.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks, Matt. Earlier today I discovered I had 10,001 files called prefs-xx.js. Deleting all but the usual one fixed my problem.

Since I have been using Thunderbird with Dropbox successfully for about 8 years, I figure it will be a small price to pay. Every few weeks delete the extra files.

Cheers!

I will save both of us a lot of time. The drop box solution does not work. Basically the files you are trying to save are syncing and generally messed up if you were to look in your profile folder you will have many files with numbers in the names prefs up to 200 I have seen reported, along with lots of others things that have numbers and should not. So when you get you profile unsynced you will stop having issues. It is that simple really.
