I requested to change my password... twice. Responses to requests were email sent. Might I not have received a "link" to change my password, since I hadn't joined? I'm getting old. Pls forgive me. I did set up an account to send this in. Thanks, B

I'm with you now :) No worries, at least you now have a working account and password to access this forum at any time.

You sound confused. You clearly have created an account to use this particular webpage forum and obviously are able to use it.
Might I not have received a "link" to change my password, since I hadn't joined? This sounds like you have been trying to use a link in this forum to do with password changes. This clearly has nothing to do with your issue.
Let's start again. Answer some questions to help everyone understand you situation. Do you use 'Thunderbird' to get access to read emails ?
1. Do you have an email address and are you trying to create a new mail account in Thunderbird for that email address? Yes or No ?
2. Do you already have a mail account set up in Thunderbird for an email address? Yes or No ?
3. Does Thunderbird normally automatically access server and download your emails allowing you to read them, so you never need to enter the password? Yes or No ?
4. If answer to number 3 is YES, have you recently had a pop up error message window asking you to enter a password ? Did you try clicking on the 'Retry' button ?
Thank you for your reply but I think I have confused you.
I have been using T'bird for quite a few years. Thought I HAD subscribed to the support forum so tried to sign in. My password wasn't being accepted, so I requested twice_to CHANGE forum password. Never receiving instructions. SO, I created, what I thought to be *another* account... same email address and voila, a forum account was created.
Since I was able to create a support account, it appears I answered my own question. I never had a support account, therefore I was never sent instructions to change my password.
Thanks, Toad-Hall! Sorry for the confusion!!
