Deleting multiple emails from inbox.

Is there any chance of having a delete button on the main email tool bar at the top of the page as well as the one on the actual email header please? the only way of deleting emails from the in box is to move each one to a trash folder first or opening each email in turn it is also impossible to "select all" and deleting them that way. I have 700 emails in my inbox, I left them there thinking it would be a quick job deleting them, how wrong was I. It will take me until Christmas doing it this way.

Chosen solution

Control+a to select all Press the delete key

Right click the toolbar where you want a Delete key and select Customize Is there a Delete button shown in the dialog box that opens? If so drag it to the toolbar. If not, then the answer is no.

The delete key on your keyboard works. Right click and select Delete. Turn the Message Pane on by pressing F8 and use the delete button there.

Airmail, thank you so much! Right clicking toolbar and adding a delete key worked a treat. Part of my problem I think is that i jst upgraded to win10 and I am sure 100% there was delete key when i was using thunderbird on windows 7 but it was missing since downloading thunderbird on win10.
