New installation Firefox on iMac OS X 10.7.5 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo + 2 GB RAM is impossibly slow in last few days.
I have been using Firefox successfully for over six months but in the last few days it is impossibly slow: slow loading, slow connecting to home site, unresponsive to ordinary menu commands, just everything. I removed the old installation and reloaded a fresh copy. No change observed. I have no problem with Safari. Computer information in title.

What is your computer system and Firefox?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
