I am using an IMAP server from Network Solutions and although I can successfully tag messages in Thunderbird, the color highlights from those tagged messages disappear each time I download new mail. So, it appears that the tagging is not getting saved on the mail server. Any recommendations on how to root cause this issue?

Thanks

tagging is problematical. Thunderbird knows that some servers do not support it, and should be storing the information in the MSF file for the account is the server does not support tagging.

So it should not disappear on syncing mail, but it will not transfer to another computer if the server does not support tagging, and if you run utilities like Thunderfix the file (MSF) will be deleted thus loosing this information.
