How do I delete unused SMTPs from Thunderbird settings or change the Default SMTP?
I have been using Thunderbird since 2008 and currently have v38.5.1 running under Windows10. Some months ago I deleted the first email address for which I used Thunderbird as the Domain has lapsed. The SMTP for this was set as the "Default" value. This SMTP remains as the "Default" and I can neither delete this address nor set another as the "Default".
I cannot delete other unused SPTPs either.
I have a different email address from the same internet provider and have the appropriate SMTP for this address set in Thunderbird, but cannot send emails now this "Default" SMTP no longer exists, so Thunderbiar must be substituting the "Default" for the set SMTP.

Right click the account in the folder pane on the left side. Select Settings Go to the very bottom of the account list to Outgoing Server (SMTP) All the functions for the SMTP server are there.
Thanks, but does not solve the problem. All the SMTPs I have used over the years remain listed on the line you suggest but I cannot editany of them.\, whether to delete or change the "Default" SMTP. My provider seems to see only the "Default" which is for a domain which no longer exists.
The screen I referred to shows a list with Add, Edit, Remove and Set Default buttons.
Post a screen shot of what you are seeing.
I do not see the Add, Edit, Remove or Set Default buttons.
Go to the account listing on the LEFT side. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Outgoing Server (SMTP)
The SMTP field that you are showing is just a listing. If you want to edit them you have to go the the bottom of the listing on the left side.
Down under your gmail account.
