Firefox illegaly imported all my bookmarks from chrome. How do i reverse this w/o screwing up my chome bookmarks?
I use chrome for everything, and/so have 000's of bookmarks and folders saved over the years. I've only used Firefox for 1 month now because work starting requiring it, so i use it just for work, and want to keep it 'clean' and separate from my personal use over the years on chrome. Somehow today it somehow accessed and shows all my 4,000+ bookmarks from chrome! I noticed it at first by simply typing something into the search bar, when old bookmark suggestions started showing up. Then i looked and sure enough, they are all listed there in the bookmarks folder. Earlier today i updated the Java and Java Runtime plugins we use for work because Firefox kept freezing/crashing on me. That's all. The only changes i've ever made to Firefox, just updating those 2 plugins. In fact, i specifically denied them (oracle) that pesky permission request to add the yahoo toolbar when updating. There were no checkboxes about 'bookmarks'. What gives? Does Firefox just automatically search the bowels of your computer for other browsers bookmarks after about the one month mark since first installing Firefox? How do i remove all these w/o disturbing my Google Bookmarks folders?? Will they?? Anyways, i'm going to uninstall FF and see if that works, but i want to prevent this from happening again.

Uninstalling Firefox wont solve your issue since all bookmarks are saved in separate folder. You can create a fresh profile and delete existing profile which will start Firefox from scratch!
See Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles article for information
