I've got two email accounts set up and working fine in Thunderbird. My main account, which I use for almost everything and a second account that I use for video surveillance and I was wondering if it was possible to assign a different sound to the second account.

You could try this addon, there seems to be mixed results. Hard to know if this was down to user not setting up correctly. I've not used it myself, but it must be worth a try.

How to Install Add-on Extension: After downloading addon extension *.xpi file to desktop or downloads folder.

In Thunderbird 'Tools' > 'Add-ons' or 'Menu icon' > 'Add-ons'

  • Click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install Add-on From File'.
  • Locate the *.xpi file you downloaded and click on 'Open'.
  • You many need to restart Thunderbird when prompted.

It worked...thanks a lot for the information. I never thought to check the add-ons page.
