When I donated on line yesterday, I was told I would receive an email about my transaction; why did I not receive one?
Since I have yet to receive an email confirming my donation, I got nervous. I just got off the telephone with my credit card banking company just to confirm that my donation did go to Mozilla Firefox. Since I got the right answer from them confirming who it went to, I am now O.K.

Thanks for the response neilben. I totally understand that you do not need it to tax purposes. I too live in Canada so I don't see the need for it as well but we are here to make sure our users are taken care of.

Glad it is confirmed that the money went Mozilla. Perhaps you can say what web page and link you used for the donation maybe then someone would find it easier to look into.
Presumably you checked your email junk box.
Thanks, and thanks for the donation.
Hi John Since this is the first time for me upon registering in the support forum, Thank You! I did check my junk mail box and there was nothing there. I am copying and pasting simply the address after I clicked 'donate'. It certainly is very long and here it is:
I have assumed that is what I was to give to you personally and that you would pass it on to whoever. As of this moment and a day later I have not received notification of my donation and or invoice whatever they send out. Personally I am not expecting an invoice or confirmation as I do trust the Mozilla organization.
I am one of the unpaid volunteers here. The link at least appears to be genuine and similar links may be seen if you click the Mozilla tab at the top of these pages.
I might have expected a confirmation email to be sent. I also note the page mentions:
Contributions go to the Mozilla Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, to be used in its discretion for its charitable purposes. They are tax-deductible in the U.S. to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I might have expected that to indicate some sort of numbered receipt would be issued for IRS purposes. Although you say you now have no need for a receipt I will ask, because of my own interest in the procedure and the possibility that something could be going wrong but not being noticed. It may be a couple of days before I or someone else will be able to give you any further information.
neilben: Welcome to Mozilla Support. First and foremost, thank you for donating to Mozilla! Nobody here at this support site has access to your invoice or your donation. However, please email makerparty[at]mozilla.org as that is the email address listed on the link you provided and they may direct you to the right people. You can also email joinmozilla[at]mozilla.org (I'm not sure if that email address still works) to confirm your donation and to get a reason why there were no email sent to confirm. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you once again.
Hi Feer56
Thank you for your reply. I am not going any further with this. The importance of an invoice or receipt at this moment is not of importance. I do not live in the US of A but in Canada and a tax receipt I would not be able to use. I just simply wished to give a donation and not on condition of having a receipt. I am going to be marking this subject or question of mine as being 'solved'. Thank you again. Neil

Please continue to direct donation questions to [email protected] and [email protected] -- they'll go right to donor support. makerparty@ will take a bit longer getting to us!
