Firefox crashes
Firefox crashes and when I open it again it immediately crashes again. It has happened so often that I am getting frustrated with Firefox. The problem seem to correct itself when I restart Windows XP Pro. I would like to use Free Download manager but has been unable to do use it with Firefox for months now. Why do you keep updating Firefox all the time? It is driving people away.

Hey Galjoen,
Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.
There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article.
Hopefully this helps!
I tried Firefox's safe mode start but Firefox still would not start. The only solution this far is to restart the computer. I have now disabled all the add-ons and almost all the plugins. I am waiting to see if Firefox will crash again. I have had the standard theme running all the time.

Firefox just crashed again. I wanted to download a program and opened Internet Explorer and Cnet's download pages while Firefox was open on a webpage I was reading. I am using Internet Explorer because I can use Free Download Manager with it. When Free Download Manager started downloading the file, Firefox crashed. Firefox would not start again even using save mode. I had to restart Windows to be able to run Firefox. So what is causing the crash?
