After upgrading Firefox Firefox displays my yahoo id on the top left hand corner as follows:debbiefolks2082 sent you a new message alternating with (44944 unread)- rakumra-Yahoo! Mail-Mozilla Firefox, even though I have no messages as shown by messenger list. Pl rectify the situation. Note that when I went to microsoft internet explorer and logged into Yahoo! Mail it said I am almost there and that it would for email sending and receiving but for other facilities I need to upgrade and gave a list of web browsers including Firefox. Therefore I nailed the error is in the updated Firefox which is the latest. Without this messenger etc features, the Yahoo! Mail worked fine with microsoft internet explorer.

Hi,

Please try signing out of the Yahoo messenger service in Yahoo. You may not be seeing this in Internet Explorer because Yahoo messenger service and other features and enhancements may not be working.

Firefox and other browsers can only display web pages and web mails. All the functionality, settings, animation etc. are coming from the site / mail provider.
