keep getting ad/spyware on Firefox even after un & re installing Firefox

I have had problems with some adware on my PC. When I search through Firefox the page always redirects to ad directories. I tried using spyware erradicating software with no luck. I uninstalled Firefox form add/remove programs and then re downloaded it and reinstalled it but I still get redirected when I search through Firefox. I like using Firefox as my browser so can you please tell me how I can fix this please?

You need to get rid of the adware/malware that seems to have infected your system. Please see this article for instructions: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.

Install Adblock Plus 1.3.9 add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

Check and tell if its working.
