For some reason when I select a word on a web page, right click and select the "Search Google Powered Search" for ___, it now uses the Bing search engine instead of Google and takes me to the Bing site. I have checked my add on's and the keyword.url and I find no reason for this to occur. Yesterday it worked fine and today it does not. As I am typing, I realize I just installed Quickbooks Pro today. I'll check what got installed, but that is the only change. Oh, I consistently run Firefox in the private browing mode.

That contextual menu entry us tied to the selected search engine in the Search bar. Change the search engine that is showing in the Search bar.

It has gotten worse. The search bar states that it is a "Google Powered Search", but now it diverts to Bing. That happened after I disabled private browsing. Moreover, Bing is not even listed as a search engine when I go to Manage search engines.

FYI to anyone with these problems. I gave up. I exported my bookmarks and uninstalled Firefox. I reinstalled and everything works again. What a PIA. Wish I were competent enough to understand how to fix this.
