I've noticed that when going to some sites Firefox takes a long time for the page to fully load. I see waiting for IP Address # in the status bar at the bottom. Trying the same site with IE or Chrome the page loads instantly. I disabled JavaScript and reloaded the page and the page loads quickly again. On other computers I own, I've tried to load similar pages with no issues (Firefox loads quickly with JavaScript enabled). I was wondering if this issue has come up before and what solution anyone can provide. I've included one site I know this to happen.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.

You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I should have mentioned I' ve tried that before with no luck. I also tried reinstalling Firefox at one time as well and the problem still happens. I wonder if it has something to do with Java installed on my computer.

To avoid confusion: http://kb.mozillazine.org/JavaScript_is_not_Java

See JavaScript settings and preferences for interactive web pages and http://kb.mozillazine.org/JavaScript

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
