All passwords gone - All sessions deleted - WHY

PROBLEM 1: I do not understand why after every few days all my sessions suddenly gets expired. My firefox is set to open all tabs where i left off and most of them had sessions. If it was one session that was expiring then i could have thought that it must be that website's issue but all sessions on open tabs expires at once.

PROBLEM 2:

In case there is a version upgrade or a browser crash ... all save passwords are gone. I cant get them back even with account sync.

-- I have never seen any "old firefox" name folder on desktop ever in my entire life. -- I am not using any extension. -- I am using default theme.

These 2 issues have been irritating me for years now I am really really pissed off .. whats the use of even saving the passwords when one has to lose them one day suddenly.

FIREFOX CAN NOT BE TRUSTED WITH SAVED PASSWORDS. Years of versions released but this damn issue is always there since the first day.

They should rename is to something like "FAKEFOX" or "FireUp your Ass"... I have to go through so many forget passwords procedures to get all my passwords which i lost just cuz of trusting this bloody firefox

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Are you using any password managers?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

As expected a cheap reply from a loser. Perhaps we should inform our layers also in case we lost that text file. Or even better lets hand write it and keep it in locker to be safe ... how about hiring a secretary just to manage that text file and bunch of security guards for that files protection?

Mr FuckedMcd why do Firefox says it can save our passwords. why dont u remove that feature from this stupid browser. And even if do that which i wont .. still what about the 100s of passwords that i lost. Jason is empty, profile is empty db is empty ... this problem is not less irritating then your reply. If you dont know the solution then just shut up .. no need to bark

PERHAPS WE SHOULD HIRE A SECRATERY TO REMEMEBER OUR PASSWORDS

By default, the session history file stores the session cookies for all tabs in the file so that you can resume where you left off. Of course, if your Firefox has the default setting to allow sites to set persistent cookies, Firefox should retain those until the expiration dates set by the sites.

It sounds as though all of that data is getting purged somehow, by some cookie cleaning feature or utility/privacy/security program that targets browser data. If you have any such programs (e.g., CCleaner, Advanced SystemCare, etc.), try setting them not to do anything with your Firefox folder or data.

Firefox doesn't have any built-in feature to discard the contents of the logins.json file, nor does this seem to be the kind of file that external cleaning programs should target, so this is strange.

That said, there have been a number of reports of lost passwords among Windows 10 users after the recent major system update, so there might be some new factors.

I do not use any such software.

Its not a built-in feature but a bug that has never been solved since the first version of firefox. You can say that Window 10 users are suffering more beside the fact that like every window comes with its own pack of bugs but I will not blame this issue on windows for I have suffered this problem since the time of Win XP and besides whats the point of having an account to sync when it do not retrieve all those logins in such situation.

Friend the bitter truth is FIREFOX is not solving this issue so far and no matter how great/fast this browser becomes it will just be a untrusted piece of shit if it keeps on blowing the logins this way

I know that no one here can solve this rather than doubting that its the OS or some other software responsible for this or giving stupid advice that i should time travel to tell myself in past to copy all my logins in a text file.

I still post this issue here with hope that maybe the developers would feel some shame about their product and might consider in solving this by birth bug of firefox in next version so that people like me would not suffer

I have read a lot of posts here over the years, and I can't recall anyone else ever reporting the specific issues you're describing. Occasional data loss, sure, but losing all logins after every update, or losing all session cookies every three days, these symptoms are very unusual.

Have you ever filed a bug to see whether the developers can suggest some advanced diagnostics to figure out what's going on with your system?

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

I suggest filing the issues separately.

Sync actually is intended to share data between multiple installations of Firefox. If you do not have another installation of Firefox that you sync with, I suggest disconnecting the service in case it is making the problem worse.

I never thought that one has to play the role of an ostrich to save the fox. Simple google of the term firefox lost password / profile etc... will give u millions of results .. and these are only the 5% who posted it while others are busy trying to find there passwords from previous forums.

And i never said every 3 days so dont play with words to hide your failure. After few days i.e. random ... can be after 1 day or after 20 days or 200 days .. it just happens and I have to login to all those sites on each tab.

YES I HAVE REPORTED BUG MANY MANY TIMES WITH NO RESULT

You should rename firefox to failurefox because the failure starts when one deny to accept his mistake and is finding way to blame it on others .. to the user, to the OS to other softwares. Windows is the culprit .. other software are culprit ... smart phone is also a culprit and even the use is culprit ..... just poor innocent FOX
