When I start my computer in the morning, I get what appears to be a new version of Firefox. Sometimes It's yesterdays version with the fixes I could manage, other times it's brand new and goes to the Mozilla start page. I've gone through so many old profiles that I don't have any Sqlite, Logins, or places.Sqlite files left in them, since I've migrated them over to all the new Firefox starts that I've had. I tried to fix this issue by doing the "replace Firefox" or whatever it's called and even that didn't help. I am at my wits end. The only possible way to get the passwords back is do a reverse sync with my Iphone, if that's possible, because I synced the phone to Firefox before all these problems started.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

It is possible that there is a problem with the profiles.ini file.

Is the profiles.ini file still there with the same content the next morning?

Do you have any security software that might be protecting the profiles.ini file and restore an older copy or otherwise cleanup the file?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.
