You will no longer find Pocket prefs on the about:config page. Current Firefox releases add Pocket as a built-in feature extension. If the Pocket extension is enabled then you should find the Pocket icon on a toolbar or in the Customize palette.
Do you see the Pocket extension in about:addons extensions as enabled ([email protected])?
You should see the Pocket button in the Customize palette and find "View Pocket List" in the Bookmarks menu if you drag the Pocket button out of the Customize palette to the Navigation Toolbar.
I apologize for the delay in responding back on these. Neither answer has resulted in a resolution to this issue of the missing "pocket" icon/button. Neither is it located in the toolbar customization menu. In fact, my toolbar customization menu doesn't look like the one listed in the Foxfire help pages. I have the latest version of Foxfire, so I don't know what the problem is!
Hi, try clicking on Restore Defaults as shown here: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
You say the menu looks different, so if the above doesn't work, try try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
If that doesn't help, please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. Thank you!
Is the built-in Pocket extension enabled if you check that on the about:support page?
What prefs do you see if you search the about:config page for pocket?
Is the browser.uiCustomization.state pref included?
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
