When I am reading email in Thunderbird, Thunderbird wants to open email with one click of the mouse. I want to use two clicks. i have tried using Control Panel, mouse and setting speed but that does not work. Help!

The only way Thunderbird works is to have a double click to open in a new tab or window depending on how you have tab or window set up. A single click will have the message display in the Message Pane if you have that turned on. Pressing F8 toggles the message pane on and off.

If you have messages opening in a new tab or window with a single click I would suggest that you try a different mouse. It sounds like yours is issuing a double click when you single click.
