I can no longer close tabs with one click, now I have to click the tab and then click the X, so it's twice as many clicks just to close tabs! Yuck, ugh, why???

The new tabs this morning are ugly too. But the main problem is now I have to click on each tab to select the tab before I can click the X to close the tab. BAD!!!! I'd rather go back to the old Firefox I've used for years! I like to be able to close my tabs quickly, not slowly! Also it's a privacy issue, if somebody is standing behind me and I don't want them to see what's on a website and I quickly want to close a tab I don't want to have to select the tab, as that will make the page appear on my screen.

Hi ColonelMustard, have you tried with fewer tabs? I believe the 'x's are visible in Firefox 29 when you have less than a certain number of tabs in that window (when you have more tabs the tabs shrink and the designers evidently thought the 'x's would take up too great a proportion of the space). This has not changed from previous versions of Firefox (for Macs or Windows PCs). Admittedly I don't have any Apple products, but these screenshots are evidence of the 'x's being visible on other tabs:

I understand however that the results with fewer tabs may depend on other factors as well.

You can also close a tab (regardless of how many are in your window) without going on to it if you right-click it and select 'Close Tab'. You can also close the tab you are currently on with Command+W.

Other than that, I don't think there is anything you can do - sorry about that.
