USING computer: MacBook.com, Office System: 10.6.7. Firefox version: 3.6.16

PROBLEM: Loading: http://www.yahoo.com/ the site comes up but icons, images etc don't load, whilst the load on my safari 5.0.4 browser.

HOW I TRIED TO FIX IT: In Firefox under: Preferences -› content - I have unticked: block pop-up windows; I ticked: Load images automatically and ticked: Enable Java Script.

Under: Preferences -› security - I ticked: Warn me when sites try to install add-ons and: Block reported attack sites and: Block reported web forgeries. Plus I ticked there Exceptions: and put in: http://www.yahoo.com/

- I closed the window, quit Firefox, restarted, but it still does not work.

I don't know what else I could do?, any suggestions welcome. Thank you. Victoria

A lot of servers (Yahoo! is one of them) store images and other content on separate domain(s) that you may not recognize.

See:

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:

  • Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
  • Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
  • Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
