I opened Firefox & was told it had automatically updated to 3.5 (yes that is what it said). ALL my bookmarks, my bookmarks toolbar and my other two toolbars are GONE, my personalized home page is GONE. How do I get them back? VERY frustrated with Firefox which has been crashing a LOT lately, and several other updates have taken away my personalized home page. Why can we not keep these even tho you update?? Loosing my bookmarks is NOT ok with me. My Xmarks and delicious are Missing... HELP!

Thank you, Thank you, cor-el. It took a LONG time but I finally got my bookmarks files all back.

Now, do you have a solution to get my two different tool bars back and my personalized home page that I still can't find? That would be super and I hope Firefox figures out how to make upgrades that don't annihilate things like this with each upgrade. edocsokol

A personalized home may have been stored in a cookie. If you have lost that cookie or the update made that cookie invalid then that home page is lost and you may have to redo it.

What kind of toolbars do you mean? Toolbars added by an extension?

From which Firefox version did you update? A previous 3.6.x version or 3.5.x or even a 3.0.x version?

OK. It was Firefox 3.5.x that was on autoupdate (which I stopped now so I have to be asked before updating) on a Mac Book Pro (31/2 yr. old but updated with more Memory & larger hard drive (not sure I have that right, but now is 3GB Memory and 250GB hard drive Intel Core 2Duo). Using several places from the link cor-el (above) gave me, I finally found a copy of my bookmarks and have them back.

While trying to find my personalized homepage, I went to a google add-on for finance after adding several other items to a new inprogress homepage, and out of the blue, my old homepage shows up when I click on the google finance gadget! I could not believe it. And all my other stuff was on there. I immediatley saved it to my Bookmarks, to my idisk and remade it my homepage for igoogle. Now, how do you explain that? Anyway, I am now back and good to go, just scared to update to the FF 3.6x version for fear of similar problem.

The only thing missing now is the 2nd toolbar that I don't remember what it was so guess I won't miss it. The other was the NPR one which I got back from NPR website. Thanks folks!

My tool bar, bookmarks and history just disappeared, where are they and does Firefox make any software that actually works? This is a Mac 10.6.4 using Firefox 3.6. It was working fine when I went to the post office I came back and got a message on my screen saying the my history and bookmarks and tool bar were gone directing to a page that wasn't any help at all!
