Automatic backups are not happening under Windows 7
FF Help (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+and+restoring+bookmarks) says FF automatically creates backups of your bookmarks and saves the last five backups for safekeeping.
On my old XP system, this was true. FF made a new backup json file each day which I would then backup from the FF folder to an external USB drive.
On Monday I moved to a new, Windows 7 system and installed a new installation of FF. The new installation of FF has yet to automatically create a backup. I am looking for them in C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\v62lc497.default\bookmarkbackup
I can't find them anywhere else on my local drive using the the W7 search function. Is there something I need to set in FF to turn-on automatic backups?

You are looking in the wrong location for the Firefox Profile Folder You need to look in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
In \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ you will only see the Firefox cache and the phishing database file.

Are the bookmark backups in your profile folder (not Local)?
C:\Users\myname\AppData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\v62lc497.default\bookmarkbackup
No, there are no new bookmark backups in my profile folder. (Yes, they would be local if they were there.)

Thanks cor-el. That solves my problem. I wish Windows 7 search had found that path when I searched for json files.
You're welcome
