Thunderbird attempting to send emails I did not gererate.
I do not allow Thunderbird to store passwords for my incoming and outgoing SMTP servers. When I start Thunderbird, it asks for, and I enter, the password for incoming mail. Lately, just after that, the dialog box appears asking for the outgoing SMTP password, even though I have not composed or tried to send an email, and there are none in my draft or outgoing folders. This has been going on for a few months. It only used to ask for the outgoing password when I actually tried to send an email. What is is trying to send? If I enter the password, nothing appears in the sent folder.

Who is the mail provider? Maybe the authentication method has changed.
No changes that I am aware of. Happened with more than one provider, starting at the same time.
There may have been changes that you're unaware of. Once again, who is the mail provider(s)?
Again, have two different accounts, two different providers, behavior is the same with both, and both started at the same time. Respectfully, I do not know with whom I am communicating, so prefer not to give you that information. What I will add is that, after I do not enter the outgoing password, I get a dialog box that says "the sending of the email failed". What email? Again, and to the root of the question, I am not sending any email! Additionally, if I close T-bird, and reopen it within a few minutes, it does not ask for the outgoing password after the incoming password, never having entered the outgoing.
