Firefox loads but doesn't function MSVCP140.dll incompatible with windows
I got this message
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f.
and firefox would either not load, and after I reinstalled it it would load but not load web pages. I refreshed firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing so far. Even after a fresh install nothing.

Fixed it, turns out it had nothing to do with FIrefox, but Microsoft visual studios 2015 Redistributable. I fixed it by watching this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr2GwfiJdok
However, since there's a chance this video will disappear into the ether or not function for some other reason I'll give a basic description.
Go to microsoft and download the Microsoft visual studios 2015 redistributable, if your usual browser is being effected try internet explorer or microsoft edge. Currently the web address for the redistributable is: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52685 but if this link isn't working you can search for "Microsoft visual studios 2015 redistributable" and it should be there.
if your system is 64 bit you'll need both X86 and x64 versions. if your system is 32 bit you just need the x86 version.
after you have these downloaded, go to your control panel then go to programs/uninstall programs. Uninstall both Microsoft visual studios 2015 redistributable x86 and x64 and reinstall them. Note, you will not be able to install these programs without deleting them first.
Hope this helps

You can check for issues caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation that is missing runtime components (Redistributable Packages) required by Firefox, especially VCRUNTIME140_1.dll.

Note that best is to install the latest version like I posted above and not the older 2015 version you installed.
