What gives? Why is Firefox consuming 47% of the battery for my mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy V Plus: Model SM-G318MZ). At 47% this is more battery use than the screen, Android OS and Andriod System combined!

I have tried to find some way to 'stop' FIrefox but even 'forcing stop' makes no difference. If I can't find a solution within the next day, I will have to remove Firefox and find another browser that users less battery consumption. That will be sad move for me as I have used Firefox ever since it came out on my PC. Sadly Firefox has become more and more resource demanding to use. (I see that on my PC version as well but the PC can take that). Draining my mobile battery so fast is a much more serious.

Try using battery saver app and stop firefox from running in the background (achieved via settings and with some battery saver apps).
