Sorry, to clarify a few things:

• When the blank screen problem starts, does it affect all pages from that point forward, or is it limited to particular sites and you can still browse other pages?

• Does it make any difference to either zoom in/out (e.g., Ctrl+ a couple times, then Ctrl- a couple times) or to resize the window? These can force Firefox to "repaint" the page.

• Do these pages normally use a full body fade-in? There are some sites that start with opacity:0 (complete transparency) on the body and then after page load fade that up to opacity:1 using a script and the transition feature. If the page didn't load correctly/fully, or if the script is blocked, the content may stay transparent.

• Is the re-start you mentioned just exiting out of Firefox and starting it up again -- you aren't using the Refresh feature?

• When you said crashes, do you get a crash dialog from Firefox (the Mozilla Crash Reporter) or from Windows, or do you get NOT RESPONDING in the title bar, or were you using the word crash in a more general sense, i.e, stopped working?

And, um, I realize it's a cliche, but when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(0) Reload bypassing cache with Ctrl+Shift+r (or Shift+click the reload button). Sometimes this does the trick. Otherwise...

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

• right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
• (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
• click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button

In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Sorry about the formatting thing. If there's a space at the beginning of a line, the site converts everything that follows into "preformatted" text and doesn't wrap it. Using < can cause weird issues. So with that in mind:
