FireFox will support Flash until early 2018 - what does that mean exactly?

There are many articles about Flash Player and browsers. In most cases, Flash Player is defaulted to Off, but still usable. If Firefox will no longer support Flash in early 2018, does that mean the plug-in cannot be added to FireFox, FireFox will block it from being a plug-in? Or will there still be an optional/manual process to use it?

I have not researched the latest timing on Flash. We are still witnessing the fallout of Firefox 52 disabling all the other plugins. Unless you are planning your next web app or site redesign -- in which case, DO NOT USE FLASH -- I think it's going to be a while before the true timetable for the final deprecation of Flash is known.

Agree with not using Flash moving forward. We have legacy applications that will be around for another year or two. We are trying to decide what to do with them, whether we need to change them now or they will deprecated after the Flash browser plug-in is.
