My address window has stopped functioning. How can I fix it?
My bookmarks work fine, as do links on web pages. But, if I type a correct address into my address window nothing happens when I press "Enter"! I end up having to type it into my Google search window, then clicking on a search result that will take me to the web site I needed. I don't want to have to use Chrome or Edge, both of which I hate. I LOVE my Firefox!! I am using a desktop PC with Windows 10 Home. Can anyone suggest a fix??

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac
Then reinstall the latest version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
