The new Thunderbird says, "The Thunderbird composition window now functions more like a word processor in that pressing the "Enter" key inserts a new paragraph, pressing "Shift+Enter" inserts a new line. This new behavior can be switched off in the Thunderbird > PreferencesTools > OptionsEdit > Preferences > Composition > General tab."
There IS NO SUCH PATH as "Thunderbird > PreferencesTools > OptionsEdit > Preferences > Composition > General tab"

That didn't help. I don't know that I even HAVE any add-ons for Thunderbird. I have AdBlock running for Safari ...
You have a calendar, everyone does. It is distributed with the program.

Hi Fritzie, the bug says that that problem will be fixed in "Thunderbird 47" which probably is the next update of Thunderbird 45 in a few weeks. (Version numbers for the development version run ahead of the released version, which increments in decimal places from the major release instead of whole numbers.) Whether that is exactly the same problem you have with Georgia, there's no easy way to tell.

I really hate changes like this because: Thunderbird is an email client not a word processor! How difficult is it to press the enter key twice?
but worst of all the default behaviour is set to the NEW WAY and NOT KEPT as the FAMILIAR WAY!!!
If people so desperately need this facility then they are the ones who should be made to search for the setting and not the majority of us who don't give a monkey's and LOSE the FAMILIARITY that they were used to.
I teach older people to use computers. Many use Thunderbird for email. Changes like this drive me up the wall. Older, less confident people get really frustrated and lose confidence with these 'pointless' changes.
In future when making changes like this, please remember that the new release MUST keep the settings of the current version and let those who want to use the different setting change it in their system.

Which brings me to a related topic: How to copy something from Word (when absolutely necessary) and have Word NOT contaminate the email with its invisible and sticky behaviors? (If you know what I mean ... )

Ctrl+ Shift + V (or paste without formatting from the context menu.)

Now I'm thinking maybe that sticky behavior I was talking about was mainly because of the new setting in Thunderbird, which I've now disabled. There may be something more, but I couldn't make it happen just now ...
