I keep getting a "Media Player out of date" but my security says it is a fake, how can I tell if it actually is ot of date?
I continually get "Fire Fox video player is out of date" Or Media Player is out of date.. The "about FF" says it is up to date, Adobe Player is up to date.. I clicked on the"Up Date Now" but security said it was a fake..
Is it or isn't it required ?
Thank You

hello, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
. Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated;
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS
While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Any time you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the web site of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to Mozilla.org. {web link}
You can also report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

The MediaPlayer extension is said to be the cause for this message.
