This started to occur a few days ago, before that, I never had any issues. It may be related to Mcafee security, but could be anything.

hello howardek, this might be caused by malicious addons and adware present on your system, so please perform all these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

Your problem is almost certainly caused by your extension ArcadeParlor 1.0 .

Google for information and removal advice. Do you use it? Do you know where it came from?

Thank you very much!! It seems to be working, although I have not been on computer very long since I deleted ArcadeParlor. I has been on my computer for a while and I never had problems with pop ups until recently?? But it seems to be working.

I successfully removed piccolor and other unwanted pop up adds using AdwCleaner. This link will take you to the download page. Norten says it's safe. https://www.how-to-remove.com/downloading/3516/0/

I too started getting absolutely bombarded yesterday with tons of ads at no clear time so it's incredibly difficult to locate and block them. They completely fill my screen and this leaves me no option because everything is covered, they really do cover the lot so my only option is to restart again and again and again. They also leave no trace of being there, so obviously it's a Malware vibe so could you offer any advice whasoever on removing this insanely annoying Malware rubbish. As if I would ever purchase anything from them....ooooh noooo!!! Help always highly appreciated, thank you. Sáss Alæssí
