How to stop "Ads Related to" poping up after I type in and hit search for something. It almost acts like a redirect, adding ads to the top of my search request

when i type in a search request and hit search, the page opens with websites of the request. Immediately a list of other websites pops up at the top of the list under the heading "Ads Related to...." the search request. So far I have NEVER wanted to visit those sites and have to scroll down to those not a part of the added items at the top. Very annoying and cannot find a way to prevent it. Apparently this is something new and is connected to Google Adsence or something similiar. How can I prevent this ?

I have used Superspybot, Malwarebytes, and Avast scans and find nothing. I use Adblock Plus in Firefox. I have the latest Firefox. In short, I don't believe I have adware virus etc. on my PC. I am including a copy of webpage about this problem but shows no solution. See below. Also adding link to that site.

Google tweaking their Ads section once again: Google is testing new text above their sponsored ads. The search terms are now placed in the ad area. The above is a screen shot of Google’s yellow ad section above the organics. Highlighted is the text with the search terms “Fountain Hills pest control“. Previous versions have included simple text like “ads” or “sponsors”. This is the first time Google has included the search term.

hello, you may have various addons/adware present on your computer. please perform all these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu New Fx Menu > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. update firefox to the latest version to stay secure on the web!
  4. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

if you think that it's coming from google itself but isn't removed yet by adblock plus, you can report that to the maintainers of the filterlist you're using: https://adblockplus.org/en/getting_started#false-negatives

Did you read the article I added url for ? It actually says GOOGLE IS DOING IT for a test. I tried issuing a report to Adblockplus and so far no responce. The problem is not just one ad not being blocked. It is a number of ads placed at the top of my search, placed by Google after my search page opens and they are placed under the heading "Ads Related to....." and at the end of those added ads a link to open More Ads Related to. This happens virtually every time I try to search for something. Ads from google placed at the top of my search list. They are different ads every time, based on what I was searching for. The page opens with a list for my search. The page then blinks and the "Ads Related to" are suddenly added to the top of the search list.

i read the article, but it's also from 2012... in case this is part of a google experiment you can try to clear the cache and all cookies from google.com to get back to a normal state.

I believe now that this is a problem with my using Yahoo. Since posting this problem, today I tried Bing and several other search engines and do not have this problem on ANY of those. I guess I will change search engines. Thanks to those who tried to help me with this. It's helpful to have others take an interest in helping those who are not so literate in internet problems.
