When I save photos many of their file extensions are in upper case. How can a save the files in lower case?

After surfing the web and saving some photos, a lot of the saved photos have file extensions that are .JPG. Is there a way so that all photos are saved as .jpg?

I have a program that can convert the case after the fact but it would be so much more convenient if the files were saved in lower case to begin with.

I think Firefox's built in feature will simply save the files using their original names. Perhaps there an an extension (some kind of downloader?) that offers more flexibility. You might try searching on the add-ons site: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/

Use the SAVE AS option if you can. This allows you to save to the folder you want and use the file name you want.

Thanks for replying.

Using the Save As option is the only option I have.

I did notice that the capitalization of the file extension happens primarily at eBay.com, for what it's worth.

As to the files you have already; Drop down to DOS.
Change to the folder the files are in; CD directory/folder
Use the rename command; REN *.fileextension *.newextension.
