Quite a few bookmarks have disappeared from my bookmark toolbar (after the last update?)
Basically, the question says it all.
All of a sudden a lot of my bookmarks have disappeared from my bookmark toolbar. I am unable to find them anywhere.
I used to have quite a few of them, some in directories/folders, some 'free' - but never more than two branches down.
Chosen solution
If you open the Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b) and explore there, can you find them in a strange location?
If they are really gone, it's possible that the database file which stores bookmarks and history has become corrupted. cor-el has some suggestions for that here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/956965#answer-428511
You may also want to immediately make a backup copy of your bookmarkbackups folder. That folder can be located using:
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
I suggest copying (not moving, just copying) the entire bookmarkbackups folder to an alternate location such as your Documents or a USB flash drive. That way as time passes, you will still have the older backups to restore if necessary.
