I got a message yesterday, urging me to update my Firefox. I ignored it and unfortunately, Firefox crashed three times during the day (yesterday). Now today, I decided to try dowloading the new update. I clicked on the Firefox button, help, About Firefox and at first, it froze and nothing happened. I tried the same process again: Firefox/Help/About Firefox This time, it dowloaded and then I got a message to "apply" the update. Immediately, it came logged off from Firefox so I thought that this meant I had to shut down my computer which I did. Then, when I restarted the computer, I clicked on Firefox and saw the message: Firefox has stopped working. What's going on? Please help!

It could be that the installation process was interrupted and didn't complete. Try using another browser to download and install a fresh copy from mozilla.org/firefox

Thank you Verdi. Should I uninstall the original Firefox?

It wouldn't hurt to uninstall the old version but usually not necessary. I'd just try installing first. If that doesn't work you can delete and install with these instructions - Reinstall Firefox
