When listening to radio, playing videos, playing moshi monsters, the sound is very crackly and makes an echoing sound. It started about a week or so ago.

Sound on Internet explorer works fine.

you probably have an audio error. this should'nt be hard to find if you have the right software.

Is it possible that more than one plugin is playing the sound/

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Safe mode didn't help.

Should note that I'm running FF14 beta. I believe the problem started when I applied the latest update. As noted, sound works fine through other programs (such as IE). And works fine on the other comp, where I'm running FF13.

Which version of the Flash player do you have?

You can find the latest Flash 11.3 player for Firefox on this page.

If you can't get Flash 11.3 to work then you can try to revert to Flash 11.2.

You can download the Flash 11.2 player via this direct link:

You need to uninstall the Flash 11.3 version if you downgrade Flash.

Big ups cor-el

I really appreciate the links and info, totally fixed my echoing. I had version 11.3 and downgraded and sounding normal again.

Thanks so much!

Worked for me, too!

Applied the latest FF update. Thought that did it for a minute, but no. Updated Flash 10.3 to the latest build. Thought that did it for a sec, but no.

Reverted to Flash 10.2, and I have sound back! Yay! Thanks! :)

For the record, even after applying the latest FF beta 14 update, FF is still not playing well with Flash 10.3.

... And with today's update, Flash 11.3 works!!

Thank you, devs!
